Marcia Bishop Sanderson and Maureen Garcia Carpenter's LAKE COUNTY provides a lovely survey of Lake County, which holds the state's oldest lake and yet receives much less notice than Lake Tahoe (perhaps because there is no skiing!) A writer and an archaeologist have teamed up here to cull images from 5/5(5).

The Murphy-Ryan compound in the dunes of Lake Michigan in August is all about jet skiing, family gatherings, barbecues, and ice cream. But Archbishop John Blackwood "Blackie" Ryan isn't on vacation he's there to spy on another bishop who is making trouble by spreading gossip/5.

Hugh Bishop has done a wonderful job of putting this book together. Having lived, schooled and worked in Lake County from about this book provided nostalgia as well as a deeper understanding of Lake Bishop of the Lake counties book and Northern Minnesota's roots/5(3).

The Bishop at the Lake: A Bishop Blackie Ryan Novel Mass Market Paperback – J /5(32). The Bishop at the Lake A Blackie Ryan Story (Book): Greeley, Andrew M.: Matters of succession lead to attempted murder in the latest of Greeley's popular shop Malachi Nolan has designs on the Diocese of Chicago despite the fact the Most Reverend Blackwood Ryan, himself recently appointed an archbishop, is currently in line for the post.

Unfortunately, Bishop has allowed her joy of sadistic violence with no point to resurface in book 7. I don't recommend this book, particularly for those of us who have developed an allergy to characters who rape and torture their way through the story with no value to the plot.

Go back and read Lake Silence (book six) again instead/5(). “I loved, loved Lake Silence. Anything by Anne Bishop goes on my keeper shelf.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Patricia Briggs “Anne Bishop writes with a world-class blend of humor and chills. Her world is startlingly original.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris Praise for Etched in Bone “A fantastic punch of gritty and dark politics and interspecies war/5().

Wild Country is the book I was expecting when I first picked up Lake Silence so I was really excited that we were being given the chance to catch up with familiar faces from Prairie Gold and Bennett.

Bennett's human population was wiped out in the war started by the Humans First and Last group, only the Intuit settlement at Prairie Gold /5.
